booteX
BooteX is a micro GNU/Linux distribution that fits in a 1.44MB floppy disk, containing a graphical X client and network support for use as a remote XDMCP terminal, using the following technologies:
BooteX is based on SkatOS and inspiredy by QNX Demo Disk.
Description
Besides this specific pourpose of being a X Windows client distro, booteX may be, like the [http://www.etherboot.org/ | Etherboot]] project, a toolkit for deploying floppy disks with micro-distros that can store:
- Kernel and modules (network cards, pc speaker support, etc)
- Simple graphical applications like dillo and xedit
- Specific applications like darkice or icecast server
With network and ramdisk support, is still possible to keep a simple packaging system where applications are remotely fetched and vanished as the system is turned off.

The picture above shows how booteX made a thin client fly like a plane!
